SPRING 2008 Collection

The Spring 2008 Collection was inspired by the gray of the melting snow on the New York City sidewalks in March 2007, when designer Carly J. Cais was flown there to compete in the national design competition Express Your Style 2007, sponsored by The Daily and Bacardi Límon. One of only five finalists chosen out of over 350 entrants, she participated in a live cut-and-sew of the yellow Bacardi Límon-inspired cocktail dress she designed, and then returned to her home of Honolulu, Hawaii to launch RIVETED. She chose pastel pink and blue as accents to the chic city-inspired grays and blacks to add some girly fun to the collection, and used gold chain jewelry to represent the glitz and glamour of the fashion-industry events she was able to participate in. She named each garment after a happening or experience she had on her four-day whirlwind trip.
